October 27, 2021 – D-Terra Solutions had the honor of hosting 22 students from the Metro Early College High School for a tour at their onsite Innovation Center.
COO, Shawn Dodson, and Engineers Sayali Sangle and Christos Ragias took the students on a tour of the D-Terra innovation center, and fielded Q&As related to engineering, business processes, and product development. Student got a hands-on look at a variety of products as Dodson went through the development process for each, and even got to see real life use of CAD in practice as demonstrated by Ragias.
Tyler Hertenstein, Highschool Engineering/Design ECE Pathway Teacher, said, “They all left very excited – it was great to see the real products in the innovation center, a real use of CAD, and to hear each of your stories.”
D-Terra has a history of partnering with student programs within the community through Ohio State and Otterbein University programs, but this is the first high school level program that the company has worked with. “I was very impressed with the interest and engagement of the students along with the thoughtfulness behind their questions.”, said Dodson.
D-Terra and The Metro School look forward to working together soon on future Senior Capstone projects and D-Terra is excited to be a part of elevating the next generation of Engineering and STEM professionals.
About Metro Early High School
Established in 2006, Metro Early College High School was born out of the desire of both the Ohio State University and Battelle to create a “small” STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) school with a “big footprint.” Made possible through the facilitation and network of the Educational Council, Metro is the platform school for The Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN), and was the first higher education (The Ohio State University), business (Battelle Memorial Institute), and K-12 partnership for STEM learning in Ohio.
